Headless employees are no better than headless chickens
Fantastic piece! True for most managerial jobs. Dropping context is one of the biggest problems with cascading management requests and general make-believe work in most organisations.
Great piece! How do you bypass this shitty part of your career as fast as possible? How to get more senior in less time, so to speak
This is one of those posts that I want to print out and hang up. Sometimes it's hard to ask for the reason a request for information about my department or our SEO strategy. Not any more.
A big thing I am worrying about is the trade off between extra income / responsibility of management roles (Good things!) and the extra time / stress that it requires (bad things). It is very easy to find new SEO roles at the moment, and to move up the ranks quickly. But is the better pay and job title worth the knock to your personal life? Tough decision to make. Any advice?
Thanks for the great insight here Tom, navigating this part of your SEO career can be overwhelming and tough to find good resources for. I continue to learn a ton from just reading the SEO MBA content.. contexthunter.io (domain available) !!
This was a great and useful piece, thank you!
